Working as a research assistant with Professor Florin Rusu to identify the limitations of traditional large-scale data processing algorithms. We evaluate how different statistics impacts in decision making process in algorithms. Specifically
- Estimating the cardinality of the database query.
- Evaluate the impact of cardinality estimates during join-ordering decisions and overall query processing.
- Design and develop algorithms to minimize optimization time.
- Impacts of hardware, i.e., CPU/GPU in query processing.
